Last updated: August 2026

Our Commitment to Data Protection

We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. This page explains how we comply with these regulations and your rights as a data subject.

Data Controller

For the purposes of data protection legislation, we are the data controller responsible for your personal information. You can contact us regarding data protection matters at [email protected].

Lawful Basis for Processing

We only process your personal data when we have a lawful basis to do so. The legal grounds we rely on include:

  • Contractual necessity: When processing is necessary to fulfill a contract with you, such as delivering courses you've enrolled in
  • Consent: When you have given clear consent for us to process your data for specific purposes
  • Legitimate interests: When processing is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating our educational services, provided this does not override your rights
  • Legal obligation: When we must process data to comply with legal requirements

Your Rights Under GDPR

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right to Access

You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. This is commonly known as a subject access request.

Right to Rectification

You can ask us to correct personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete.

Right to Erasure

In certain circumstances, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data. This is sometimes called the right to be forgotten.

Right to Restrict Processing

You can ask us to restrict how we use your personal data in certain situations.

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used format and to transmit it to another controller.

Right to Object

You can object to processing of your personal data where we are relying on legitimate interests as the legal basis.

Rights Related to Automated Decision Making

You have rights regarding automated decision making and profiling. We do not currently use automated decision making processes.

Right to Withdraw Consent

Where we process your data based on consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time.

How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond to your request within one month of receiving it, though in complex cases this may be extended by up to two additional months.

You will not usually need to pay a fee to exercise these rights. However, we may charge a reasonable fee or refuse to comply with your request if it is clearly unfounded, repetitive, or excessive.

Data Security Measures

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest where appropriate
  • Regular security assessments and updates
  • Access controls limiting who can view personal data
  • Staff training on data protection requirements

Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, as required by GDPR.

International Data Transfers

Your personal data is processed within the United Kingdom. Should we need to transfer data outside the UK or European Economic Area, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place as required by GDPR.

Data Protection Officer

For questions specifically related to data protection and GDPR compliance, you can contact our data protection team at [email protected].

Right to Complain

If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's supervisory authority for data protection.
